The Scott Valley Film Coalition is a group dedicated to promoting the visual and audio arts in northern California. The group is sponsored by the Northern California Resource Center, a private, non-profit organization.

MEGAN PETERSON (EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR) has been involved in features, television, and documentary film-making for more than 15 years, and is passionate about all things film and story. She has produced, directed and written more than 150 hours of on-air programming for a wide range of cable networks, along with multiple distributed independent features, industrials and music videos. Recently, Ms. Peterson made her feature film directorial debut with the critically acclaimed feature Heathens & Thieves, starring Don Swayze and Gwendoline Yeo, and is currently in development on her second feature.  In her spare time, she has served as a juror for such prestigious festivals as the Los Angeles Film Festival, the Milledgeville Film Festival, Sundance Writing Labs, and the International Documentary Awards, and was a founding member of the United Nations Association Film Festival.

Having recently relocated to Scott Valley, Ms. Peterson continues to write and produce cable programming in addition to her work with the Scott Valley Film Coalition. She received her MFA from the University of Southern California under the mentorship of Robert Zemeckis, and is a graduate of Stanford University, magna cum laude.

Patrick, producer of the Telly Award winning documentary Afterglow, brings extensive experience to the Scott Valley Film Coalition including project coordination, organizational efficiencies and budgeting. Patrick has experience as a technical writer, editor and production manager. As an event professional, Patrick has produced events for San Francisco’s Cow Palace, San Mateo County Expo Center and the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta, Georgia. He splits his time between Roseville and Quartz Valley, California.

Darrell Mitchell’s varied and highly accomplished technical film and television background has spanned multiple departments, from production sound, camera and lighting to live special effects. After gaining experience as a combat camera in the Air Force, Darrell transitioned into commercial film and television in 2002. He began his career on the East Coast, working as a gaffer and grip out of Boston and New York.  In 2005 he relocated to Los Angeles where he became a full-time production sound mixer, a skill he had previously picked up as a student and subsequent course manager at the Maine International Film & Television Workshops.  As a sound mixer, Darrell has worked in all four corners of the world, from Easter Island to the North Pole and war-torn Iraq.  His credits span television series, movies, commercials and industrials for networks such as 20th Century Fox, NBC, ABC, Nova and PBS to cable networks like Showtime, CMT, Travel Channel, VH1, MTV, E! and many of the Discovery Networks.  In 2004 & 2005, Darrell also enjoyed a two-year stint in live performance special effects that took him to major events at the Staples Center and Coachella, and as far as Japan and Hawaii.  Currently, Darrell still works out of Los Angeles but resides in Northern California.

Larry is the founder of Resource Management and Executive Director of the Northern California Resource Center. During the past 20 years, throughout Northern California and Southern Oregon, Larry has been integrally involved in Natural Resource training, facilitation, watershed assessment and restoration. This includes project design, management, and extensive experience in Hydrology, water resources, project level planning, implementation, fuels and wild land fire practices.

Larry, a lifelong artist, is a founding member of the band Afterglow and served as the Executive Producer of the Telly Award documentary dedicated to telling the remarkable story of the long, lost band. As a native of Scott Valley, Larry is dedicated to the people and spirit of northern California.
